Frozen Heart Whipped Cream

Comments
I was going to post this 2 weeks ago, but then I took an unintentional blog break.

It all started with my trip to Vegas.  I was so exhausted when we got back that I didn't do anything productive for almost a week... {insert old joke here}

The next weekend my sister flew in from San Fran so we could run my first 5k! {did I mention I didn't train for it AND was still extremely tired??!}

That was the start to my busy weekend... ran a 5k, took kids to Children's Museum, did a little wine tasting and had a fun little Birthday brunch with the rest of my sisters & some friends {see, at least I have an excuse for being tired... I'm old!}

Finally we went to Disneyland on my actual birthday... which ended with a trip to the ER {luckily my littlest one just had a sprained ankle - nothing broken!}

That brings us to today.  2 weeks later and I'm finally getting my a$$ back into gear and I am determined to get something done!

So without further ado, here is my quick little Pintastic craft tutorial.
My little one loved making this and it was the easiest thing ever.... seriously, so easy.

First you need the following items:
Whipped cream
Cookie Cutter
Food Coloring (optional)
Fill the bowl with whipped cream
Put a few drops of food coloring - we wanted a pretty pink color
Gently mix
Luckily I have a little helper today :)
Pour into a freezer safe container

** TIP: Place some wax or parchment paper down underneath first.  I will make it easier to remove once frozen **

Now just wait patiently until it's frozen.  Hopefully the kids won't get too antsy.
If they do, you can always give them a "special" snack
I think they liked it :)

Once it's frozen, it's time to pull out the cookie cutter :)

The best part was snacking on all the left overs :)
The finished project :)

The original pin showed the heart placed in hot chocolate, but since it's 80 here... I opted for something different.
My daughter and her BFF wanted to partake in the fun,  so we made some chocolate milk {which they L.O.V.E} and added the "delicious heart ice cream" {their words, not mine} and they drank it up so fast!
Aren't they just too cute?!?!

Pintastic Friday #1 {Valentine's}

Comments
Hello... My name is Angela... and I'm a Pinaholic

I love pinning great ideas, tips and recipes, but I'm REALLY bad about following thru and actually making them.

So I thought I'd try and motivate myself....

I'll start sharing a few of my favorite pins each week and then pick one to make.  So today is the start, next week I'll be sharing my completed pin and I'll post a new list of pins to attempt to tackle.

********************************************

I think I want to squeeze in one (or two) more Valentine's Day crafts, so here are a few pintastic ones I've found :)

Valentine's Day Round Up

Comments
Do you ever wake up and wish you could just roll over and go back to bed?

I do... all the time

Unfortunately that never happens, since I have 2 tiny {but very loud} monkeys bouncing on my bed... Literally!

3yr old: "Momma, I'm starving!!!  I neeeeeddd to eat someting"
20mo old: "MAMA, mote" {hands me remote} then points to tv "MAMA, mou" {turn on Mickey Mouse}

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a momma

but I AM NOT a morning person

at all............

So instead of posting a brand new craft today, I'm gonna be a little lazy and do a round up of some of my past Valentine's Day projects.

I hope something here inspired you to be crafty today!!

HANDmade Valentine's Card

Comments
I think one of the best parts of becoming a parent are all the handmade gifts.

I love them.  They are so sweet and personal.

A few years back, my hubby and I agreed that we would only give handmade gifts to each other for Valentine's Day.  I mean, what shows your love more than personally making something!

To keep with tradition, my hubby got something handmade from me {check it out here} and something handmade {literally} from our daughter.

 So simple ...
and my daughter loved having pink hands!

Valentine's Day Printables

Comments

I can't believe it's already February!  As much as I love this month, it's also one of the busiest months for my family.  We have...

* Valentine's day
* My sister's birthday
* My birthday {YIPPEE}
* My dad's birthday

Plus it's the shortest month of the year!! Let's just say that this month is pretty rough on the checkbook debt card {who even uses checkbooks anymore?}

So I thought in the spirit of saving some dough and still staying crafty, I'd share a few FREE Valentine Day Printables!

Just click on the size you want to download :)

(If you want the design a different size, just go into your printer settings and shrink the image before printing)

Valentine's Day Card - Iheartu

Comments
I can't believe it's already Valentine's day!  I meant to get this posted a little earlier, but hey, better late then never - right?  Well I wanted to send out Valentine's cards to the grandparents and aunties, but I wanted it to be something cute and personal, so here is what I came up with.

These are really easy to make - promise! The hardest part was getting my munchkin to stand still long enough to get a few good pictures - haha.

All you need is some felt, a glue gun and a shirt.  (Now you can free-hand your heart, but since mine are always lop-sided, I used this wood heart that I had, as my stencil)
Cut out your hearts
Cut out the wording you'd like - I went with a very simple I <3 U
Now, glue the wording to the hearts
When it came to putting the hearts on the shirt, I just used a few safety pins.  I thought about putting a few small stitches instead, but I figured it would be much easier (and quicker) to pin it, since I'd have to switch the pattern 3 times.

Next came the hardest part - getting a good picture.  As you can see... I took a few!
I picked out my 3 favorites, created my collage (I used Picasa - free editing program), then added some wording and that was it.
Lastly, after printing and cutting out my collage, I glued it onto some red scrapbook paper... I thought I was done, but I felt that something was missing... so I punched a hold in the top and added a little XOXO ribbon.  Now instead of just some photos, it was a bookmark!
I think they turned out so cute.  Something easy and simple and I know that the grandparents will LOVE it!

Hope you get to spend today with the people you love
Happy Valentine's Day!!
