Disneyland Ticket Surprise! ....................... {Disney Series #1}

Comments
I love Disneyland... but really, who doesn't?!?!
My hubby and I were lucky enough to grow up about 20min away from Disneyland, so we've been going there our whole lives.  It.never.gets.old!

In the summer of 2012 we took our kids to Disney for the 1st time.  Since it was our first trip, I HAD to make some crafts!   Now almost 2 years later, I've finally gotten around to posting about them.  So check back over the next week or so to see everything!

This craft started back around Father's day {of 2012}.  I was planning on just buying tickets, but then after seeing how expensive they were and figured we'd only end up staying for 3-4hours and we'd probably going back with the grandparents a time or two...  I came to the conclusion that an annual pass worked out better.

With Father's Day around the corner, why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone?  Annual Pass & Gift all in one.  Now I didn't want to just hand him a card with the computer print outs, so I thought I'd be a little creative...

First we had to make the sign... letting him know what we were doing.

I used these cute wooden signs and painted it with black chalkboard paint
 Then it was picture time...
 Yes, that's drool....
 We took a lot of photos......
Next it was time to turn all those photos into a cute little card
As cute as this card was, it didn't exactly explain that we got Annual Passes... not just tickets

So I went online looking for what an Annual Pass looked like (in case you didn't know, they change like every year!!).  I found one I liked and then created my own.

**This is not an actual pass - just a design printed on Cardstock**
Cut and Glue
Looks pretty good :)
I even fooled my hubby - he thought it was the real thing.
He thought we'd only go once, so he was sooo excited to find out we got passes!
The first time we ever went to Disneyland together was back in 2006 {shortly after we got engaged}.  Fast forward 6 years and we have 2 little munchkins with us.  How things change.... in the best way ever!

Personalized Golf Club Covers

Okay, this post is going to be short and sweet

I've been super busy this week trying to get everything together for our trip without the kids {Vegas Baby!!!}

YES, you heard me right, without the kids!!

While I'm super excited for my trip, I'm also excited to share this fun little craft I made for my golf playing father-in-law

In case you missed it,  I included these golf balls with this gift.  The Perfect Combo!

I created the design on my Silhouette Cameo

A few pointers:
  1. Make sure to print your template out on normal paper first to confirm that you have the appropriate size/shape
  2. VERY IMPORTANT!! Make sure to MIRROR your image BEFORE you print the final image on your iron-on sheets.  Otherwise everything will be backwards.
Next, peel off the negative space, so that only your image is left on the transfer paper
Iron on.  Done!
Honestly, I was a little worried about how it would turn out since the shape wasn't the easiest to iron and the material was a little mesh-like.
But they turned out perfectly.

Now I'm off to finish cleaning the house before the long drive tomorrow!! Adios!!

{P.S. Thanks mom for watching the kiddos... especially over Valentine's Day.... you are awesome!!!}

Where did Monday go?  I wanted to get this posted first thing, but instead of working on posts last night, I watched the premier of Walking Dead w/the hubs.  Do any of you watch that show?!?!?  OMG {yes, I just said OMG},  if you don't, you must start watching NOW!  It's fantastic, addictive and an intense show - we love it!

Now normally I wouldn't have time to blog on Monday mornings, since my kiddos have swim class, but this morning was different...  I spent my morning sitting around while a plumber fixed the sink.

So.Much.Fun.

Luckily, after a quick 3.5 hours the sink was fixed - yahoo!!  Even though my morning errands were shot and swim class was cancelled at least I was able to squeeze a new post in {silver lining}

So, today I wanted to share this fun and easy Silhouette Cameo craft - great for anyone - but this was made for my Father-in-law.

I created the design on my Cameo first

I printed it on Tattoo Paper ** remember to mirror image before printing!!!**

Then I had my Cameo cut it out
If you don't have a Cameo, Cricket, etc... you can print any image from Word, Photoshop, Etc {mirror image in printer settings} and then cut out with scissors :)

Time to apply on the golf ball
 Place on ball and wet the back {per the instructions on the tattoo paper package}
DONE!
They turned out super cute...
Hopefully my Father-In-Law doesn't lose them all in the lake :)

Father's Day decorations

Comments
I wanted to decorate the house for Father's Day, so I thought I'd make a couple cute, quick and SUPER EASY signs.

All you need are a few items:
Paper, Scissors, Twine or ribbon and a hole punch (not pictured)

** I always have tons of extra scrapbook paper on hand, however if you don't have scrapbook paper, any colored paper will do.  You could even use white paper and have the kid/kids decorate each letter; maybe some with marker/crayon, with paint or even put stickers and/or glitter on them! **

Father's Day shirt

Comments

This year was my husbands FIRST Father's Day, so I wanted to do something special and VERY personal to him.  I decided to make him a sleep shirt with our daughters hand and foot prints on them. I know that this has been done time and time again, but it's still super cute and the memories from the day will last a lifetime!

I wanted to make sure the shirt had a lot of personal touches, so I added the following items:
  • I put his name on the front (well, his name according to Madison, which at the time was Dada)
  • Of course the shirt had to include the year and since my husband played baseball for many many years, I thought it would be cute to put the year on the back, like a jersey.
  • On each of the sleeves it said "I <3 U"
  • On the back it said <3 Madison <3

Burger and Fries for dad

A few years ago, my sister found these adorable cupcakes online and wanted to make them for our dad.  It was really fun, VERY easy and our dad loved them.  He even took a few extra to work the next day to show his co-workers.  Recently I made them for a 4th of July potluck at work and people couldn't get over how cute they were!

Here is how they turned out - super cute right?? :)
The complete tutorial is here ---> Bakerella
